Introduction

The Makersite tool for Autodesk® Fusion 360™ calculates three amounts in the cost tab;

  • Should Cost

  • Material Cost

  • Manufacturing Cost

A Should Cost is a calculated estimate of what a component or assembly may cost from a supplier.

In simplistic terms, it is a cost based on the most efficient process possible to make the component. Makersite links to a large number of databases & sources to find Material Costs, Manufacturing Costs & production margins are then added to this to create a Should Cost.
